Tracking Tunnel

Electronic Housing

Injection Molding & OverMold

Developed along side the Tracking Tunnel, the electronic unit and electronic housing saves Rangers a second trip out to multiply spots over the year, saving around a quarter of a million annually.

The concept is based around a small electronic component the size of a single AA battery. Activated via a magnet from the outside, a LED light shines through the clear plastic to show its on. Then after a set time the metal wire heats up to burn through some nylon. This is held in place when the cap is push fit into place. Once it is heated the new tracking card drops below covering the old.

The housing was done with Injection molding.

We over molded the electronics to ensure that it is  waterproof.

Multiple iterations were test for the housing using 3D printing, and situation tests.
